Parking at this station is typically limited because of the small quantity of spots and large volume of daily commuters making the trip to Penn Station. As a result, parking spots are usually filled after the early morning rush hour trains.

This makes it a great stop after a long night out in New York City.
Massapequa Train Station is on the Babylon branch of the LIRR, which later turns into the Montauk Branch.
Massapequa Train Station Parking Tips
The Massapequa Train Station parking lot is more accommodating when it comes to the amount of spots available for commuters to park. Unlike Massapequa Park Train Station, there are parking lots located on both sides of the platform. Although there is a large number of spots in the Massapequa Train Station parking lot, that doesn’t stop it from filling up during the week. After the rush hour trains in the morning, spots can be hard to come by. However, the lot is still substantially bigger than Massapequa Park so you have a better chance trying here.
On the weekends, there are usually plenty of spots available in the Massapequa Train Station Parking lot. This makes the Massapequa Train Station a great place to leave your car when taking the Long Island Railroad into Penn Station for an event or out to Montauk for the day. Massapequa Train Station is also conveniently located across the street from the Massapequa Diner, which is open 24/7 and a great stop after a night out in the city.

The Best Way to Come Back to Massapequa Train Station and Massapequa Park Train Station
This tip may be obvious to some Massapequa locals, but many people don’t realize it. We wanted to share it with everyone because it has saved us a lot of time standing around in Penn Station waiting for the next train home.
When planning on how you will get back to Massapequa, consider both train stations as an option when checking the schedule for your ride back. If you have your car parked at either station, a train ride from one train station to the other is about 2 minutes. In this case, it is worth avoiding the wait for a train at the other station.
If you don’t have a car parked at either station, the taxi, lyft, or uber, to your destination will have a negligible difference in cost.
