Lou Anthony Sports Complex

Lou Anthony Sports Complex is located right next to the Massapequa Train Station along Sunrise Highway in Massapequa. The sports complex has recently undergone about a half a million dollar renovation that took almost a year to complete, but it is now open again. The park is hosts many events for the Massapequa PAL Sports Program.

Formerly just a grass baseball field, the park now offers a newly renovated turf baseball field as well as a new basketball court and deck hockey (Street Hockey) rink. The new additions and convenient Massapequa Train Station access have given this spot a recent boost in popularity. The deck hockey rink makes a great place for players to come practice because it is one of the only rinks in the area along with Marjorie Post Park.

This park makes a great place to play pickup basketball with friends when there is not an organized event going on. In addition to being newly renovated, the court offers a glass backboard on its hoops, which are hard to come by in Massapequa Parks. In the summer, it is normal to see people playing ball here even after the lights go out at night because of the exceptional location and quality of the court.

Important Note: Many of the facilities at Lou Anthony say a PAL permit is required for use, but most of the time this rule is not strictly enforced as long as there is not a PAL event going on.
