Richard Place Park

Richard Place Park in Massapequa is a hidden gem that many locals don't even know about. This park is very basic, consisting of only a basketball court, baseball field, and playground. Its beauty is in its simplicity, as there is still a nice amount of open grass area between each of these amenities. An important thing to note when visiting this Massapequa Park is that there is no dedicated parking lot, meaning you will have to find parking on a nearby side street, which fills up quickly during a sporting event. We recommend getting to the game or practice early if you need to find parking.

This park is mainly used as a field for the Massapequa Coast Little League Organization. The baseball field itself is small and one of the easiest in Massapequa to hit a home run. The trademark of this field is when the outfield becomes covered with dandelions throughout the season.

The basketball court at Richard Place is the perfect place to work on your game without embarrassing yourself, as it is usually not as crowded as other nearby parks such as Field of Dreams and John J Burns. The court seems to be the wall of a handball court that hs been placed into the ground. The standout feature of this court is the incredible noisy backboards and rims, that the neighbors can surely hear from down the bloc.
