Mansfield Park (Walker Park)

Mansfield Park, locally referred to as Walker Park, is a park in the North Massapequa that serves as a great access point to the Massapequa Preserve. Mansfield Park has a parking lot that is a great place to drive and leave your car before heading on the path to Bethpage State Park via bike.

There are multiple baseball fields in Walker Park that host Massapequa International Little League games throughout the spring and summer months. There is also a grass soccer field located inside Mansfield Park that hosts games and practices for several Massapequa Soccer Leagues. Although technically a soccer field, it is essentially a large grass area with goals set up. This makes is a great place to come play with friends when there aren't any events going on.

When you visit Walker Park it is typical to see people playing games like fetch and frisbee with their dogs because of the generous amount of open space. In fact, the open grass area in Walker Park is big enough to host an annual firework show for the Fourth of July. Many Massapequa Park residents take a short walk over to the park for the show while others park long LakeShore Drive. The Massapequa Fireworks show typically takes place a few days prior to the Fourth of July and not on the holiday itself.
