Where to stay in Massapequa: Best Western on Sunrise Highway
This hotel is located directly on Sunrise Highway, one of the main roads on Long Island.
The location of the hotel is going to be the biggest advantage of staying here, as the hotel itself is not going to be anything to write home about.
You will be next to a shopping center that has a Whole Foods so you can take a quick walk to get groceries.
If you want to head out for the night, you can take about a 15 minute walk to Park Boulevard, which hosts a variety of restaurants and bars. It is essentially the “main street” of Massapequa and Massapequa Park.
Although the Best Western is pretty straightforward, it does have an indoor pool and free breakfast.
If you are staying at the Best Western , you have a few options on how to get to the Ryder Cup.
The most straightforward way to go would be to call an Uber or Lyft. The driver will most likely drive you straight up Lakeshore Drive before taking a left and then quick right to get on the Bethpage state parkway and take you to the designated drop off area.

How To Get To The Ryder Cup By Car From Massapequa and Massapequa Park:
- Distance & Route: From Massapequa or Massapequa Park, the drive to Bethpage Black is roughly 10–12 miles, taking about 20–25 minutes depending on traffic.
- Rideshares: Uber and Lyft drop-offs are allowed at the Main Entrance (99 Quaker Meeting House Rd). No personal vehicle drop-offs or taxis are permitted.
LIRR To Ryder Cup From Massapequa and Massapequa Park
Standard round-trip tickets can also be purchased via the TrainTime app, or at LIRR ticket machines, but these do not offer unlimited rides
Long Island Rail Road Train Route:
Board the LIRR Ronkonkoma Branch at Massapequa or Massapequa Park LIRR stations heading toward Farmingdale.
At Farmingdale Station, use the complimentary shuttle buses directly to the main entrance of Bethpage Black
Special Event Train Ticket:
A Ryder Cup Special Event Ticket costs $175, valid for unlimited LIRR travel between September 22–29, 2025, to and from any station on Long Island. Available at full-service ticket machines or ticket windows—select “MTA Away Deals” → “2025 Ryder Cup.” These printed tickets are required for travel.
Jones Beach Shuttle To the Ryder Cup:
The PGA is going to offer a free shuttle service from the Jones beach parking lot. If you are heading to the event from Masspequa, you will have to go a bit out of your way to park there and catch a shuttle.
You are better off taking a rideshare or train from Massapequa.
The cheapest way to get to the Ryder cup from massapequa
Unless the event causes a massive spike to rates, an Uber or Lyft will be the cheapest way to get to the 2025 Ryder cup .
At the time of this writing a one way Uber to Bethpage black is about $26. If you heading there with some friends, it should come out to a couple bucks each.
