Overview

Anchor Park is located along a canal on the South Shore of Massapequa on the corner of Admiral Road and Anchor Drive. This park hosts many games and practices for local sports leagues and offers a playground as well.

The fields at Anchor Park include a baseball field and soccer field. The John Shroeder Soccer Field is dedicated to the beloved coach and volunteer who had a great love and respect for the game. The field hosts many games for various local Massapequa Soccer Leagues. In addition, the baseball field at Anchor Park regularly hosts games and practices for Massapequa Coast Little league.

This park is set to dedicate its basketball court to Tyler Abizeid in 2020 to raise awareness for AVM. Tyler will live on as a hero for as long as Massapequa locals continue to play ball on these courts. This park also features a playground area that is a popular place for Massapequa Moms to visit with their kids.

 

Local Tip: Bring Bug Spray! This park is known to be filled with mosquitos when there is no breeze in the summer months

Directions To Anchor Park Massapequa

From The West:

  • Southern State Parkway to Exit 28A South or Long Island Expressway Exit 44 (Seaford Oyster Bay Route 135)
  • Take Route 135 To The Merrick Road East (Last Exit)
  • Continue on Merrick Road for about 1 mile East
  • Make a right onto Forest Avenue and continue for .7 miles
  • Turn right onto Jefferson Place, and then left onto Admiral Road.
  • Anchor Park will be on the Right

From The East:

  • Take Southern State Parkway to Route 110 (Exit 32 South)
  • Continue to the end of Route 110 to Route 27A (Merrick Road)
  • Turn right onto Merrick Road and continue about 3.3 miles.
  • Make a left onto Forest Avenue and continue for about .7 miles.
  • Turn right onto Jefferson's place, and then left onto Admiral Road.
  • Anchor Park will be on the Right
